Ideas for power window switches.

I have a 67 camaro looking for ideas about where to mount power window switches. My original plan was to use a cansole but I like the look without it.

I don't want to put them on the door panels.

some ideas i have.. inside the ash tray, like with the ashtray closed it loos stock but pull it out and the switches are in there... another idea.. is to buy a single din cover in the spot where the single DIN radio would go.. like the ones they use on boats.. and mount the switches there....

Are you going to run a stereo? If not then that Din area you suggest would be good. Or, if you are going to put a stereo in you could eliminate the ashtray and mount the switched in the filler panel.

I like the idea of them being hidden in the ashtray, but I wonder if that would be more of a pain over time then worth while always having to open and close it?

I know someone who hid their switches ... regreted it , took all the convenience out of them he was constantly having to lift his armrest .. if youre wanting more of a stock look look at the options Nu-relics has ???

so I dont have an antenna, i only really listen to streaming and audiable. I plan to run a microsoft surface in car with HP tuners loaded. So my plan was to run a lil bluetooth amp and stream form the surface.

Seat mount, outboard side of the seat, towards the front? You could weld a bracket to the front outboard seat mount that would let you bolt a bracket to the side of the seat with the switch installed on it. This assumes that the arm rest won't be in the way when the door is shut, no matter where the seat is positioned.

If you use the stereo area you'll want to make a custom cover, not use an existing aftermarket one. Aftermarket ones are designed to plug a hole and be looked at, not touched, so they aren't going to be sturdy over the long haul with stuff attached that gets used regularly. Could probably use one to make a fiberglass mold though.
