Hello All!

I am finally looking into getting a ride of my own and I'm looking to some advice on pricing. I have never bought anything I didn't absolutely know the value on, I have had tons of cars, muscle cars, trucks and they all were easy to buy for me, knowing their value and what I could get if I needed to sell them.. These cars are seemingly so subjective on price it makes it tough for me to spend hard earned money and have no idea if the car will retain its value or if it's even worth what I pay.

Anyways, I found a car I really like, it checks most of the things on my list so now I just need to figure out the right price for it, if it's overpriced, and if I need to sell it a year from now will I get my ass handed to me.

Details:

1968 Firebird, completely restored. 6.6l 400ci engine completely rebuilt, forged crank, icon pistons, edlebrock ram air 4 heads, tremec TKO600 5 speed manual, custom suspension, 4 wheel disc brakes. Car was built from the subframe up.

Anybody want to give some insight on what you think it's worth or what you would pay?

Based on what I've seen lately, I'd expect to pay ~$40k from a private seller and ~$50k from a dealer or consignment place. Lots people are "fishing" these days with higher asking prices, but in my experience the market isn't quite as hot as people are hoping.

I think 40 is a bit high due to a couple of reasons.
1. Small diameter disc brakes?
2. Speedo and tach not matched. Does the hood tach work?
3. Grant steering wheel.
4. Rear suspension looks great. What is the front suspension?
5. Front bumper looks like it fits well but my .02 it would look better chromed to match the front.
I would want all build pics they can provide. Not saying it isn't a great car just some things I saw from the pics.

As noted more info on the front suspension what type of shocks, control arms etc.. Any paperwork and pictures of engine and body/paint details. Car looks great love the color matched front bumper. Think $40k is probably in ballpark

Great questions I will make sure to ask the seller. The car is listed at 43,000. Here are some more photos
