Has anyone used these filters? I just want to get some opinions on them.

Yup- they're great. I've used them on offshore racing BBCs with great success. You don't need to, but I always get an extra element or two if I'm feeling lazy (plus we like to sonic clean them for extra measure).
If my memory serves, they do not clean down to the same micron level as typical paper filters.
