Good afternoon,

I’m building a 1939 Chevy for my dad to be a reliable and fun cruiser. He wants a mustang 2 type front end and I came across suggestions for Scott’s hot rods. Upon further reading I found some less than stellar reviews, mainly customer service/ wrong part type reviews. I tried the search function here and didn’t see much. I’m just looking to see if anyone has experience with Scott’s. Thank you.

I am curious about this too. Was thinking of one of their frames for my 57 Buick.

Not recommended. Aside from the customer service the product just isn't great.

Regarding the 39 Chevy. https://totalcostinvolved.com/product/1937-1948-chevy-car-coil-spring-ifs/ and https://waltonfab.com/ for other parts like drivetrains mounts and brake pedal assemblies.

hmmmm, bad quality as in design or workmanship? I looked at tci and there were quite a few complaints as well. It seems like every company has complaints for this setup. Thanks for the feedback

A friend has scotts stuff on a squarebody and it has been nothing but issues is the most recent example. The threaded bolt on adjusters on the upper control arms suck.

I have put probably 25 of those MII crossmembers in 37-54 Chevys. I have used Heidts, Chassis Engineering, and TCI. TCI is by far the easiest to install, the lower just bolts in and you only need to weld the spring hats on and you're done. The 6/60 warranty is a nice bonus. TCI is the only one (I think) with a MII that uses shims for alignment instead of the slots like a stock Mustang had.

Disappointing to hear. Their price is attractive but I guess there is no free lunch.

The search continues.

Thanks,
