Anyone run either of these, they are a competition tire and price is pretty reasonable for the corsa? Either these or the Nitto 0-1. They will be just for auto-x use and hopefully a track day. I have read that the Nitto has multiple heat cycles in it vs a victoracer but this is via a mag. Real world experience would be nice.

I am looking at running a 255 40 17 on an 8" wheel. Specs say 8.5 I am wondering if this is a problem. Any input is appreciated for sizes and brands. thanks, SS.

I believe the Pirelli and Nitto are aimed at the track day crowd. 100 treadwear, if correct. You can use these tires to auto-x, but would give up a little bit of grip to the pure auto-x tires, Hoosier a3s05 and Kumho v710. The Nitto nt-01 is a new tire and not much data has been logged. As to Victoracer, they are an old design, but still works well.
My friend is sponsor by Kumho and ran the victoracer instead of the v700/v710 at the Mid-Ohio SCCA National runoff. He finished 10th in the Touring-2 class with a Mitsubishi Evo MR.

I have the nitto's and the hoosiers. I like the nitto alot better than the yokohamas I previously had . Great tire , you will like them

The hoosiers are better yet but are more money !

I have Pirelli P-Zero Corsa's and have been happy. I agree they give up ultimate grip in comparison to dedicated autocross tires, but I was looking for something that I could use on the street as well. They have a 60 treadwear, but I've driven them at least 5000 street miles, 2 track days and 4 autocrosses and they aren't down to the treadwear markers yet. They do follow the ruts in the road but I think that's more from the width and my set up than the tire though I've never run a different kind at this width. My car is pretty light for the amount of rubber I have so results may vary.

you guys compare treadwear rating between manufactures , there is no set treadwear value to start with . It is not a uniform rating . Everyone has there own teadwear scale i guess you would say .

if one manufacter has a treadwear of 200 and another of 400 that does not mean that the 200 in not as good. If it is between the same maufacters yes that is true but not otherwise.

Did you guys know this ?

I just want a good auto x tire that works well without a whole lot of heat since the runs are short and the time in between rounds. Also It would be nice to get some good wear out of them. They will not be used on the street most likely.

PHR raved about the NT-01 vs Kumhos etc in terms of wear and more heat cycles. Although the companies pay these magazines, so you never really know if it is the whole truth.

Everyone around here uses the kumhos from what I have seen.

I was planning on having what ever I buy heat cycled. Any feedback on that?

I would like to switch the tires out before an event and drive from home a few miles to the event. Is this a really bad idea in terms of wear/longevity?

Thanks, SS
