Through firewall on 69 Chevelle with AC?

HEy guys, currently rewiring my 69 Chevelle with the AAW kit. As part of that job, Im also going to clean up the Terminator X wiring harness. Its currently going in through the firewall low on the passenger side, like right where the passengers feet can kick it. It's the only place I can find that isnt covered up on the inside by the AC ducting and box.

I wanted to go in through the firewall right behind the intake almost dead center. But looking up on the inside and theres a big plastic box there (duct work I assume).

Does anyone have a good option here? Ive considered that possibly replacing the factory AC stuff with a Vintage Air system might remove some of the bulky stuff?

Completely open to ideas here.

Ive quite often wondered about stealing room from in the cowl area . Say high on the passenger side ,then run the wires down across the cowl down thru the bottom then to interior and back thru the tranny tunnel . Lot of work but could free up space and keep wires hidden

Id be lying if i said I havent been looking at that wide open space with nothing in it but linkage for the wipers and some vacuum tubing. I mean, every time I look up under the dash I think "there's a clean spot but it goes into the cowl cavity :("

I am redoing all of my engine wiring on my GTO and adding a Terminator X, but I have a smooth firewall and VA under the dash, so I am not sure how much help I can be...

to me it just seems to be a perfect spot to add a ecm the COULD be easily accessed and still be helpful in hiding wires . its a decent size area ,especially after the passenger wiper arm

Does the vintage air stuff replace the factory duct work under the dash? I'm not against buying that kit.

Look through their catalog. There are many application specific ducts that they offer in their kits and also sell separately.

I have, many many times, but it's not very clear to my thick head if it replaces anything inside the car duct work wise.
