Firewall holes closed up...

I have to plug some holes in my '73 Camaro that aren't going to be used before I can get my engine back in there. I'm using a Vintage Air system and am being told the four holes in green can be closed up. Can you guys help me verify this? Is there anything else I should close up while getting this work done?

I thought the entire VA system runs through the big hole directly next to the passenger side front fender (not pictured here). No?

You can close up all those holes if you are routing your hoses through the blower hole on the far passenger side.

You can likely fill the rest of those small holes unless you are planning to use the factory firewall insulation.

Well I'm planning to use insulation of some kind. whether it's factory or not, I'm not sure. There hasn't been much put on this car that's factory.

Is that where VA wants you to run their equipment? I always thought it was run through the larger circular hole closer to the fender.

You can technically run them anywhere you want. Also keep in mind the firewall picture is my 69 Impala so the scale is somewhat different. My AC hoses run inside the fender and those holes are where they need to be for the lines to exit the fender and go through. If I ran through the large vent hole they'd cross out midway through the footwell.

Unfortunately the car is apart at the paint shop right now and I can't show you how it looks assembled.

The hole towards the middle, above the transmission tunnel is perfect for your EFI harness.

I was wondering about that. Thanks so much for bringing it up. The Terminator X Max is basically being placed right behind it on the firewall, yeah? For people who do block off that hole, where do they normally run the harness?

That location is perfect for the harness. I just got these for my GTO:

These are heat shrink harness passthroughs. I plan to use the large one for the harness. It fits a 2" hole.

Or put an amphenol type detachable connector. Unscrew the engine harness at the connector, flip the wire harness over the engine, and yard that hombre out
