Hello all. So I originally had Hotchkis springs with factory control arms and the front height was pretty much perfect on my '71 Camaro. With this rebuild I first installed QA1 upper and lowers with the Hotchkis springs and it sat way high (couple of inches). I then installed Viking 550lb coilovers with the collar about an inch from bottom and it is still at least that high! Everything is in its proper place (I've made my living as a forklift mechanic for almost 30 years). Any ideas? QA1 lowers' dimensions off?

Lower the adjuster all the way down. Keep in mind that at ride height your shocks should be roughly centered in their stroke. So 5” stroke you should see 2.5” of the shock shaft exposed.

If that doesn’t work try 450 pound springs.

Is it possible the control arm bolts were torqued while the arms were at droop and not while the weight of the car was in the tires? I’ve seen this happen before and the arms will bind at a higher ride height.

I haven't torqued the arms yet for that reason.
