Ok I just got rid of our Geico Emergency Road Side Service on a few of our cars. We have 9 cars. After several years we have not used it and they charge each vehicle separately. I just found out AAA and Hagerty have really nice plans that would cover all our cars here. I’m thinking the AAA plan seems like the better deal. Any other choices out there?

I’m sure they always send a flatbed for the lowered cars correct?

My only complaint with AAA is one time the driver showed up and didn't know how to drive stick. Not sure how that was even possible. Luckily, I was able to drive it up and drive it off to keep his hands off it.

Ok I just went with Hagerty for a few $$ more... I spoke to my sister (AAA) and brother in law (Hagerty) Both had bad experiences with AAA. She had a blowout on her BMW in Fairfield recently. Waited 2.5 hours for AAA and they told her a bunch of BS. She requested a flatbed and they arrived with a regular tow truck. Then the guy says he couldn’t take her car all the way to S.San Francisco because they were short drivers due to Covid and calls bla bla. Ain’t that some BS. In the end she just had my nephew drive up from SSF to fix it himself on the side of the road. She dropped AAA... My brother-in-law told me some similar stuff so he switched years ago to Hagerty. Hagerty always sends a flatbed regardless of car and 150 mile towing... My bro said AAA ain’t what they used to be as far ad service goes.

In addition to AAA and Hagerty, there are several other providers of emergency road service that you may want to consider:
Allstate Motor Club: Offers a variety of roadside assistance services, including towing, jump-starting, lockout service, and more, as well as travel and insurance discounts.
State Farm Motor Club: Offers 24/7 roadside assistance, including towing, jump-starting, lockout service, and more, as well as travel and insurance discounts.
AARP Roadside Assistance: Offers 24/7 roadside assistance, including towing, jump-starting, lockout service, and more, as well as travel and insurance discounts.
Good Sam Roadside Assistance: Offers 24/7 roadside assistance, including towing, jump-starting, lockout service, and more, as well as travel and insurance discounts.
OnStar: Offers various roadside assistance services, including towing, jump-starting, lockout service, and more, as well as concierge services, and more.
It's always a good idea to compare the plans and pricing offered by different providers, as well as reading reviews from existing customers. You can also check with your insurance company if they offer roadside assistance coverage and if it covers all your cars.
In addition to the above providers, there are also local towing companies and locksmiths that may offer emergency road service. It's a good idea to research and compare the providers in your area and choose one that fits your needs and budget.

Well I had the top Hagerty plan last year. Didn’t ever have to use it. This year I decided to go with AAA’s top plan. It’s great even for just the DMV services. I’ve done my registrations, VIN verifications, and title transfers at the local AAA office. I’m in & outa there fast! Very convenient! Unlike the zoo at my DMV, which is always like a 2 hour visit with everyone in there looking like they mad at the world

Drivers club sucks! I had brake issues and was on side of the road for literally 2 hours. Said they couldn’t find anyone to tow me.
I literally called 1st company I found in google in that area and they were there in 20 minutes. No reimbursement

FWIW, I have AAA premium and Hagerty drivers club. This past summer I spent six hours on the side of the interstate in the mountains of NC with an enclosed trailer waiting for AAA. Finally after a driver arrived he said no one likes to pick up the AAA service calls due to them have the lowest contract prices for towing services. Needless to say I was very dissatisfied with AAA, I have not used Hagerty’s drivers club yet.

Basically was told the same of Hagerty. Most roadside service tried to pay lease possible. But if there is no other option they should pay it.

My recent experience w/ AAA
Dec 2021- driving between Phoenix and Wenatchee WA, motor locked up in 2004 Explorer (another story.) In LeGrande OR. Yeah, you never heard of it. About 90 minutes later we were on a flatbed headed toward tri-cities WA, my neice's place. 135 miles, we used our single 200 mile tow, because we would not need it again until we renewed the next July. And then
February 2022- driving between Phoenix and SoCal, 2017 Explorer went dead 8 miles inside AZ. Actually saw this coming, got an alternator light and was trying to make the dealership in Blythe. About 60 minutes later was on a flatbed, about 120 miles to Palm Springs (hey, if I'm on a flatbed, tow it closer to home rather than further.) Gladly paid the upcharge for towing past the 100 mile limit on the remaining second 100 mile tow- gas to Blythe vs PS, plus 4 hours of my life I would never get back- covered.
SO I have no gripe at all with AAA (Auto Club of SoCal.) In fact, we may keep it when we move to Washington in 18 months.

Recently I used my AAA to tow my cousin’s Audi from New Castle to Antioch (100 mi) and my Falcon from Daly City to Rocklin (120 mi). Both tows were with flatbeds and the drivers were super cool. Also, I’ve used the DMV services a few times now. So far so good with AAA.

Just had to use AAA to get my daily towed. Used the app and about 40 minutes later the tow truck was there and we were headed home. Only had to use them a few tones over the decade I’ve been a member but sure is nice having the peace of mind that I won’t have to pay out of pocket for a random tow

State Farm has reimbursement for our Drivers and Grundy does for the Camaros already include so I don't add anything on. I've used State Farm reimbursement a couple times, no questions were asked. Never used Grundy.

I have triple A road side. tried to use them in April of 2023 to tow a truck (stripped for paint) 3 miles. They will not tow a vehicle that
a. is not currently registered
b. does not have plates on it.
the good old days of them moving cars for us isn't in the cards for us any more
