I wanted to see if anybody had experience with the QA1 Stocker Star line of shocks. I'm getting my NASCAR road race chassis together for HPDE and I'm trying to save money anywhere I can. I know the best option would be to get a set of Penske's valved for road course. I've come across a used set for $1200 but that's pretty pricey for me right now. I can get a set of 4 QA1 Stocker Star shocks (single adjustable) for $650. And plus the QA1's would be adjustable which would give me something easy to fiddle with when dialing in the car (where the Penske would need a rebuild to adjust).

I'm not out to win the HPDE... just have some fun making laps. But still want the car to have reasonable performance and predictability.

Any thoughts on these shocks?

Thanks!

Been doing some more reading, the QA1's are a twin-tube design. Another option is the RideTech HQ series universal shocks which are monotube. From my research it looks as the monotubes would be better suited for the road course. And the RideTech monotubes are only $25 more per shock than the QA1 twin-tube. So perhaps that is the best option for a budget shock.
