Working on maybe picking up a carbon blem hood from Anvil for a 67 camaro that is apparently bowed up near the cowl- I was wondering if anyone has bought a blem from them before and adjusted it to fit appropriately?

Questions are:
1) How'd you adjust it? I am somewhat concerned that you can't adjust it depending on its ability to take heat and be adjusted?
2) How easy was it if you did adjust it?

Thanks!

Its hard to tell without pictures, but honestly I think you are asking for a headache that is not worth the $$ savings. If it had a weave blem or such and the hood was going to be painted is one thing, but a bow is a physical defect and you would be hard pressed to fix it.

i dumped my anvil stuff for this reason , wasn't offered an exchange. I was how ever offered a discount on some future purchases which like everything with them didn't meet the said delivery date . Now this isn't a place for me to bash them I stating facts . I was given some advice on how to fix . I was told some heat and such would work but , to be honest at that point I was done listening. they're beyond a popular enough company so I'm sure someone can chime in and help you out ,with any luck you will get it fixed and they will also fix their problems lol Cheers

You have to ask yourself why they didn’t fix it themselves if it’s just a little heat. I’ll bet it will discolor down the road once it’s heated enough to form it.

I went through my own fair share of issues with ANVIL. My CF hood (if it happens) will be from Ultra Carbon.

Have you talked to Carbon Kustoms with Albert?

Thanks Guys- my decision aligned with all the advice on here- not worth the savings/risk of spending more to fix it.

Just checked out ultra carbon- super nice! I wonder if they're affected by product delays from COVID. Know any vendors that resell their stuff (and can get a deal ;) ).??
