I didn’t know this but apparently Wilwood has a lightweight D52-R caliper. “Race version of the good ole D52”
Has anyone seen these before or know when they were released? Seems like an interesting replacement caliper or caliper which can be used on various brake setups.

I used the Wilwood D52 dual piston setup for many years and really liked them. Looks like the "R" version saves about 0.7 lbs each, but is a single piston application that looses piston surface area. They look cooler for sure with a lot more detailed machining on them, but I'd rather keep piston area to keep m,y pad forces up. These may be better for someone looking to get front and rears together so they can match the proper piston area ratio's.
D52 stock = 6.78 in2 single piston, heavy cast iron(not sure exactly)
D52 Wilwood = 6.28 in2 Dual piston, 5.5 lbs
D52-R wilwood = 5.94 in2 single piston, 4.8 lbs

You’re on the money here. I was just interested to see this come up on an Internet search but I have yet to see anyone talk about these or even see them advertised.
