I had jacked up one side of the rear one at a time and notice there was rear doff fluids leaked out of the seal. Is that normal for fluid to leak out when one side of the rear is at an angle?
I am running Set20 bearings so there’s no inner housing end seal, just an outer seal. Yes, possibly the seal could have gone bad due to me installing, taking out, leaving the axles outside, and what not. Also, could be I over filled the rear pumpkin.
It doesn’t leak when the cars leveled though and I didn’t see any sign of leakage when I drive the car from the driveway to the tow truck on the street.

I just went through a similar situation (I had both ends leaking, both were new set20 bearings). My center section was overfilled (bad tech advice from Currie). Mostly everyone I talked to said it was approx 2.5 qts. Currie told me 3. I opened up the front fill plug and approx 9-10 oz came out. The leaking stopped. I would check there first.

Hey, thank you for respond. Yeah, I put in close to 3 quarts of fluids. I’ll open the full plug and let the excess drain and see. Maybe the excess drained out from the axle already.

Whew! Came here to find out why my brand spankin' new rear end was leaking (interestingly, it took a few months, my car is apart right now, only movement is pushing chassis in and out of garage). Same thing.

Y’all using tapered bearings? Never had a leak other than a small drip on the pinion Daytona seal.

I overfilled mine, then I had my car on the lift with one side up so I could more easily get to the bottom of the frame. So the oil all drained to that side. I filled it through the vent hole, so after it started leaking, I opened the "proper" fill port, and let it drain down to where it should have been.
