Hi, I recently bought a 68 camaro, and after the body work is done, I plan on diving in on the suspension. I have done some research, and this is what I came up with:
G-mod
GW or SC&C UCA's (can't decide)
ATS "AFX" spindles
Hotchkis 2" drop springs
QA1 adj. shocks
del-a-lum bushings everywhere
I don't know which UCA to get, and I didn't see where the SC&C arms had the del-a-lum option, and I don't know if their bushings are juat as good/better than the del's. any help tips you can give me, I will greatly appreciate.

you don't have to do the g-mod if you buy the tall AFX spindles......or you can do the g-mod and buy the stock length AFX spindles! The rest appears to be good to me :smoke:

I can only suggest the GW arms. Since you are doing everything else top notch, why not get tubular lowers?
The only other places in the front which use Del-A-Lum busings is the control arm mounts, so a set of lowers will do it or GW has the kit to put them in stock lowers.
What are you doing about steering?

The G Mod is great with stock spindles or stock height AFX spindles. You can improve it a lot more by combining it with the SC&C adj. arms and tall modular upper ball joints (Stage 1 package). Or you can get similar geometry out of the AFX tall spindles, stock ball joints and no G mod. Using the G mod with the tall AFX spindles will yield a roll center that`s higher than you really want and a very short FVSA,which could induce jacking in hard cornering. Basically too much of a good thing. The AFX spindles will pretty much take care of the factory bumpsteer (they relocate the stock steering arms and hence the tie rod pickup points). Nice pieces,we were one of the first to sign up as a dealer. If you don`t end up with the AFX spindles we can take care of the bumpsteer with our tall modular tie rod ends that drop the tie rod pickups the same amount (included in the Stage 2 package).
Del-a-lums are a great choice for the lower arms. Tubular lowers are fine if you want the look (and there`s nothing wrong with that) but for your application they won`t bring any additional performance to the party.
We offer two choices for UCA bushings, high durometer thin wall rubber bushings (think of them like factory C5 Vette bushings) or solid bushings with grease fittings. They`re *0* deflection and very low drag. They actually quite well on the street and because the upper arms don`t support the weight of the car or take any spring loading the solid bushings don`t have any noticable effect on ride quality.
The Hotchkis springs are a sound choice and the QA1 adj. shocks are one of my favorites for the money. We`ve had them on one of our test cars for about 3 years. They`ve held up to our punishment just fine so far and the wide range of rates is a great tuning tool. Marcus SC&C

On the steering, I was thinking a good rebuilt box, or maybe one out of a 90's caprice (ala Mark Stielow's 67 in hot rod) I will probably get the SC&C uppers, since they adjust(no shims) and factory lowers, unless mine show to be junk after blasting, then I may get tubular lowers as well. I am not worried about look, as I will be the only one that sees the suspension.

I have factory drum brakes, and touring classics offers C5 brakes to fit these spindles, so is the AFX really worth the extra $ over the factory spindles, and the G-mod, since I will have C5 front brakes either way?
