View Full Version : Ls2 acting up....again

Hey Guys, I have an LS2 in my 68 Firebird and it started acting up again this morning on the way to work. At first I lost throttle response and then after a second it came back. I went to the gym and then jumped on the freeway and it did the same thing again on the freeway. As I exited the freeway it did it again and the car died. Restarted the car and everything was functioning properly. About 2 miles later, I lost throttle response and then the car died. Restarted it, and had no further issues for the rest of the trip. Is this a case of a bad throttle body sensor or should I be looking somewhere else? Thanks in advance.

Check engine light on? Any codes?

Scan for codes as stated and also double check your grounds... I have seen that cause limp problems.

My check engine light is always on (even after tuning) so I don’t know if a new code was thrown. I’ll be at work the next 4 days so my tuner is going to come by and scan for codes since my scanner is at home.

The tuner came by and scanned the ECU. It threw a fuel pump control module code but I don’t have a control module so that was deleted out. We tested the TB function in relation to the throttle position and checked the grounds. No issues found in any of those places. I’m going to get some dielectric grease and put it on the TB and pedal connectors. The mystery continues.

Maybe your fuel pump is failing?

The only code that was thrown was a 069E which is the Fuel Pump Control Module. I talked with tanks inc (where I bought the fuel pump, tank, ect) and they said it doesn’t sound like a fuel pump issue. Could it be a failing MAF, but wouldn’t that have thrown a code?

You need to get back to basics....fuel...air...spark...

If you tuner is only relying on codes, he might be a moron.
