I used to run a Tremec TKO in my '67 Corvette coupe, and I did the install long before there were any kits ... I used a regular Tremec with the shifter inline with the main body of the transmission, and modified the floor and console to accommodate where the shift mechanism came out to the right and a little forward of the OEM 4-speed. I have since gone back to Richmond that has the shift levers on the side and a shifter that exits in the factory location. I thought someone building a restomod C2 Corvette could use this console and the ancillary parts to install a "normal" inline-shifted trans and not have to deal with offset shift locations etc. I was using a Pro 5.0 Power Tower shifter on the Tremec, and the circular top of the shifter protruded just above the console upper surface. I am including the modified GM console hold-down plate. I had an aluminum plate made that hid the enlarged opening in the console, a circular ring cut from aluminum to fit down over the Power Tower to trap a leather shift boot and sit just above the console which was retained by two small set screws. I actually liked that the shift lever was a little farther away from my seat, and I didn't miss the loss of the ash tray. The aluminum insert and shift boot ring were clear hard anodized, as was the home-made 5-speed shift pattern block. The console paint is still in pretty good condition, and the shift pattern plate is just held on with silicone so it will pop off if you want to change it out. Unfortunately I can't find the pics I took of the console with the Tremec install. I'm asking $100 OBO for these parts shipped to your door in the lower 48 United States. I've already butchered a nice console, so you don't have to, LOL ... Thanks for looking!
