How much $ to copy this engine?

This motor looks good and produces. I wouldn't mind if it was tucked between the 67's framerails
I am always looking for "different" small block engine setups

Probably $15K plus the EFI system.

$15K ain't gonna make it complete. Way over $20K would be a safe bet.
For the parts in the setup i've seen more out of less cubes. 660hp out of 15° heads, not as good of a intake and 383 cubes.
If it was me I would lose the aluminum block, I know it looks trick but the money for a aluminum SBC is stupid, if you really want that do a LS1 carbed motor.

You could easily do it for under 15K WITH the injection if you went with a cast iron block and 18* heads. It would still put down numbers just as high (if not higher, iron tends to make more peak power).
Of course an LSX with a turbo and a tuner would put down an easy 700HP for the same money.

Um. Isnt that the engine that was put in The MULE...before it got the Turbos?
I thought it was more than that. Although for Mark to build it, I guess it might (EDIT: PROBABLY) be more than 20K.

$1200 crank
$4500 block
$400 rods
$800 pistons
$3000 heads (easily that)
$1500 for Ti valves
$1000 shaft mounts
$1500 for intake setup (actually more since this is a converted 18° intake, since there are no 15° cast intakes out there.)
$2000 for the assembly and machine work
That's $16k without doing the knick nacks and the dyno time. Figure it's $20k at the least. Most likely more with the detail of the motor.
You can do 600hp on a stock block with good macine work and 23° castings, hell i've seen over 800hp from 23° stuff.

That's about what I was figuring Bret, plus the EFI system which would be intake, rails, injectors, throttle body, ECU, and wiring harness.
