I have an 88 iroc I bought from this sight with a 410 Donovan small block. At Idle I noticed the alternator did not charge. I checked the wiring and saw it has two brown wires a yellow wire and the red wire. The two brown wires are cut. One went to a ground on the firewall the other leads back with yellow wire. I'm sure the yellow wire is for the guage. I'm wondering about the cut brown wire. the Alternator is not a stock alternator and has a Mitusubishi emblem on the back. It has two prongs in a "T" where the yellow wire is connected to one. I connected the brown wire to the other prong but that did not correct problem. Any suggestions?

If you rev it up, will it start to charge? I have heard that some alternators will not begin to charge until they see a higher RPM.
