ls swapped ac

I ls swapped my 97 silverado. I have a ecm running the the engine and trans. I want to use my old computer to run the ac. That being said I jumpered all my pressure switches and still can't get the ac relay to click. It is good has power to it and functions providing power to the compressor when I jumper it. My question is does the computer have to see the engine running or something for the relay to click and provide power to the compressor when I push the ac button in the cab?? Again this is a 97 c1500 silverado that runs it's ass off. lol. I love it.

I don't know 100%, but I suspect that the engine needs to be running to activate that relay.
