Smooth firewall VS. Trim tag

What have you guys done with the firewall trim tag when you smoothed your firewall?

I've seen some smooth firewalls where they just smoothed the passenger side heater box area and left the rest of the firewall intact, but I'm leaning towards smoothing the whole thing for a nice clean look.

Did you just drill out the rivets and save it?

I'm interested in the topic as I have a smoothed firewall. However I don't have the vin tag anymore so for this reason I preserved the hidden/partial number under the cowl

Remove it and save it. It doesn’t add any value in a pro-touring build imho.

That's what I'll wind up doing, just remove it and save it.

I'm lucky that it's a 67 and the VIN is in the door jam.
