This seems like the right forum for this... has anyone tried swapping in a 4.6L Northstar VVT (LH2)? It is an all aluminum V-8 with decent power, but I am not up on the its regular GM parts interchangability (accessories, trany, etc...)

Actually this question would go into the "Engine Misc." forum, but who's counting? :wf:

The 2005 VVT N*@ 320hp makes good power for only 283ci. What are you swapping it into? You will have to use a special wiring harness and cpu to get the VVT to work on anything that is not a caddy. A GM's 700R4 will adapt to it, so the 4L60/80Es should work as well with stand alone controllers. Nothing from 94-04 N* interchanges with the 05 N*.

Thanks for the info. I am looking for something for my '71 Camaro, just not sure what yet :-) I liked the all aluminum setup and the price for a crate engine was pretty good. Just checking it out.
