Correct me if I'm wrong
LS2 comes with
1. LS6 heads
2. LS6 camshaft

I tried to find a parts list, but I couldn't... Thanks for the help, david

If I remember correctly, the LS2 heads are the same thing as the LS6 heads, sans the valve springs. If you find the part numbers, you'll see that they're the same.

I'm pretty sure the LS2 cam is different than the LS6, but I might be wrong.

The LS2 in my 05 GTO has an 01 Z06 camshaft, with a relocated cam position sensor (now it's on the cam gear instead of the cam). But the stock cam is an 01 Z06 grind.

so the cam is the same but with a different cam gear ? cool!....and on the heads ..does it matter if the cylinder walls have a different bore ? I know they are both 243s but have different valves

LS2 runs a different cam since the trigger is different. LS2 heads are definetly LS6 heads..

Ordered my AFR heads yesterday.. WOOT! looks like I will be going with a 230/232 114+1 (or +2) Comp cam.. should work well..

I guess that is the more clear way to put it.. the cam specs are the same but the gear is diff..

Thanks everyone.

Steve, are you going to use the throttle by wire or throttle by sensor?

Thanks everyone.

Steve, are you going to use the throttle by wire or throttle by sensor?

After seeing it installed I am leaning towards the sensor one.. the install is SO clean.. I will need to get the factory unit ported out. It's a shame since I really like the Nick Williams stuff and those new units from Holly but the fly by wire stuff is a cleaner package.

Ls2 does not have the hollow stem valves like the LS6, head castings are the same.
It does have the yellow LS6 springs.
