These forumns are full of bad stories about parts suppliers. For a change I would like to say "American Autowire" is a first class operation. They have gone out of their way to help me out which is a refreshing change. Great to know somebody knows what customer service is all about.

Great sponsor! Thanks Theresa!!

As of late I think I've changed my mind and decided to go with AAW over Painless for my harness. I don't know if it's true or not, but from what I can see, they seem to be putting out newer, better, more exciting products (I'm looking at the classic update harness for my '68). They undoubtedly have a much better website, which for some reason is somewhat of a deciding factor for me when choosing a manufacturer. I guess I think that a company's website is possibly their most viewed publication, and I think it says a lot about the pride they take in their work and how they want to be viewed by others. Does anyone else base purchasing decisions on manufacturers' websites, or am I just crazy?

Nope, it's not just you, believe me. I think a nice, clean, easily navigated web site speaks VOLUMES about a company and the quality of their product. Now, granted i'm sure you'll run in to a company or two that has a web site that's the bomb-diggity and then they wind up having a half-@$$ed product. But so far, so good. :)

I also just recently decided to go with AAW for my harness in the next few weeks. This is after already trying to go the cheaper route and go with one of the Quik Wire harnesses. It's not a horrible harness. It's quite useable. But the price definetely reflects the amount of attention to detail put in to it.

I've spent a lot of time on various websites and talking with Tech support and i'll have to agree with you. If a website can answer most of your question before you actually talk with a tech you may not look like and idiot asking him question that you already know the answers to.

Ex. 1. Aeromotive website has a bunch of tech bulletins that give you the basic knowledge to firgure out all of your fuel needs before you call and talk with them.

Ex. 2 - Today i spoke with Don at AAW and learned more about ground wires then i ever thought was possible. There company is doing a great job and i look forward to donating my wifes new purse money to them instead (please don't tell my wife).

There are certain things that make this system much more apealing then all the others out there and that is why i choose them.

Okay - Plus Theresa is a real nice person.

I was thinking about using their harness on my 69 until I talked to the guys at Steve Cook Creations. Now,I'm convinced they're the way to go.

What's funny about it? I was researching M&H Electric,American Autowire,Painless, and a few other harness manufacturers. Steve Cook Creations uses American Autowire almost exclusively. When I noticed an AW banner on the wall in their shop,I asked Steve what was so special about their stuff. His answer convinced me which harness to buy.
Sorry you found that amusing.

I am rewiring my 69 as we speak using AAW. My rewire guy has rewired many cars before and liked to do it but wasn't familiar with AAW. Now he is impressed. I like all the options, they even had a harness for the rare Speed Warning speedo in stock-no problem. Good solid product, great support.
