New rims or having mine rehooped.. remade???

Have any of you had your rims remade instead of buying new replacements? I want to keep the same rims, just need wider and different offset. Going from 18x8 to 18x12 and 6" offset

I went wider this year, it would have been slightly cheaper to have my Boze wheels rehooped however I found a buyer an decided to save all the trouble and just buy new. Rehooping can be effective, especially if someone local can do so, but I didn't want a third party doing it and would prefer to ship them to the original manufacturer.

Thx, Keeping with the same rims and getting 2 new rims for the rear in the size I want are $700 each + shipping.. SO, i'm hoping rehooping will be cheaper. Plus, it'll keep me from having 2 useless rims laying around. IDK, just kicking around ideas.

got the quote on re-hooping, $500 each plus shipping both ways .. or NEW for $669.50 each plus shipping one way.. Probably just go with new and keep the other rims for spares in case anything happens.

I bought hoops off of eBay for my forgeline’s and did it myself. It wasn’t bad at all, used Dow 732 sealant to mate them back together.

You have to pack, ship them there, blast re-powder coat... $$
I would just order new next time.

A while back I rehooped my front Forgeline wheels from 9" to 11" and it cost me about $1k to do the two wheels. That was with a discount for two of the four pieces being display items. But since two brand new wheels would of cost about $3k it was quite a bit cheaper.

Base on the OP's price for new, I'm assuming he has a 2pc billet wheel. At least in my experience that is when the term "rehoop" is used.
