I知 looking for some new headers that will not hang down so low for my 69 Nova Project. I知 currently going to be running a SB Chevy 400 with the ridetech tru turn package. It also has a z-bar and a standard power steering gear box. My current long tube headers fit but hand down about 1.5-2in below the frame rail on the drivers side. Does anyone have any suggestions or have used a particular header that work with my similar application and gained ground clearance? I bought some patriot clipper heads but the hit the steering linkage on the drivers side. I知 not opposed to using mid length.

These headers are new to the market- https://classicmusclecarexhaust.com/p/thornton-sbc-headers
Same footprint as a stock SBC manifold but has a 2.5" outlet. You'll need a Big Block down tube which gives you a true 2.5" system without the ground clearance or fitment issues.

Thanks this may be a good option. I was planning on running a 3in exhaust.

If you were closer I would let you try on my old set to see if they fit for you. Dynatech 740-21310

I installed these on my Chevelle with A/C, P/S, and A/T with zero issues. Remember, you'll need 550-600HP to take advantage of a 3" system. A 2.5" mandrel bent system with a good flowing muffler is generally the wiser choice for engines below that level.

Looking at things today I think I知 going change to a 2.5in exhaust. Will also help with the ground clearance I知 looking for. Thanks for the suggestion.
