Looking to see if I can get some input. I pulled my axles on a gm 10 bolt 8.5 and noticed pretty distinct wear on the wheel axles. It was not a Posi and the wear is worse on the left axle (which makes sense to me). My question is how severe is this wear? Do I need new axles or just a axle saver bearing? My gut says repair them, but looking for some experienced opinions. I started the project to swap out my rear axle gears, but it seems like the more I tear the rear end down the more I find. Here are pics 1st two are Lh . axle wear measured: Lh: 1.386”, Rh: 1.394” 169477169478169479169480

When you have pitting like that, you need to replace the axles. Moser makes great direct fit axles.

That’s what I was thinking. Thanks for the input.

You may already have the rear end back together by now but just FYI. I just replaced the rear axles in my Jeep Cherokee using Richmond Gear Excel axle kits from Summit. I think it was about $150 for both kits which include axles, bearings, seals and studs.
