View Full Version : Less expensive alternatives to Electric-Life for Power windows and locks?

I am interested in going power with my windows and locks.. but ~$600+ for the windows and another $150 for the locks seems a lot higher than it should be. These numbers could be off a bit (it has been a while since I looked at them) but does anyone else make a kit that would be easier on the wallet?

Thanks,
Max

Could always try to adapt later GM power window bits (which is what I'm looking to do - waiting on delivery of the motor and regulator (and arms) from a 4th gen to try and get them to work for me)

hi install spal power window kits for $400 in cars
and 2 door 5 wire locks for $200 installed
so there are cheaper alternatives

I didn't know Spal made electric windows. Does that include all 4 windows?

I Have The No Relic Windows In My 67 Bird, They Were Installed But Not Finished Yet, Still Working On The Car. So Far They Appear To Be Very Nice And The Fit Was Good.

They look to be even more expensive than the Electric-Life. $820 for four windows is a little steep.

I wonder how much this kit will go for? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4608070731&fromMakeTrack=true

I'll have to keep track of it... if I remember correctly it went for ~$500 last time they sold a pair. Thanks for the heads up!

The nu-relics kit comes with the switches and wiring though, I thought with electic life you had to purchase switches seperately.

nu-relics are awesome!. when they said bolt in, they are just that. bolted right into my 4 manual windows and work like a charm.

awesome service as well. when they sent the 4 window kit for my 65 (sedan) tempest. I got hardtop rear window cranks. I called and asked and he said they didnt have a sedan setup. He asked if I would send him my old ones for the rear windows and he would make a set and send them to me (he paid all the shipping) and he would add them to their lineup of parts. Got them in about 2 weeks and they bolted right in.

The motors they use are also almost $100 each seperatly. .

Its worth the money in my opinion.
