I have a well built 1972 C10 truck. The car I'm lookinngat is a 1967 Camaro with berry similar modifications. The Camaro needs paint probably on 3 years but is a driver as is my truck. Same engine 383 and hotchks suspension for both. Truck has Baer brakes Camaro has will woods. Kid wants to even trade. I am in need of a car with a back seat for the kids and that's the only reason to entertain this offer.

I'd look over the car very well and let him drive it hard for you.

I'm not a big believer in "even" trades, someone is going to come out with a better deal.

The Camaro needs paint ? The red one in the picture ????

Need more info on that.

In same level of condition / build a Camaro is worth more than a C10. So you may come out the winner here. IMO.

It’s been my experience that both parties think they are getting the better of the other but they usually end up thinking the opposite.....

If you can't find any rust on the Camaro, I would do the trade. It seems fair though, not too one sided.

You could ask yourself what's holding you back?

All things might be "equal" but I agree with @goodysgotacuda in the drive it hard preview. If this car had been driven hard or raced frequently I'd be looking for low oil pressure, puffs of smoke under throttle changes, engine temp, poor shifting qualities, noise at load and unload in the rear. Then a leak down test.

My major concern when someone offers a deal especially after bodywork and paint is what's under it.

Though these are all able to be repaired, there would be costs over and above the trade that may not be needed if you maintain status quo.

If that is an add on rear steer rack conversion on the Camaro I wouldn’t touch it...
