Seems they changed the format, now the person knows they are being overhauled. I think that is a nice change. Now the Camaro they did tonight? I don't know, im not a "pro-street" fan and those graphics were a little to over the top. This one sounded the best of all the cars they have done though.

Really? now I must watch it again. That "prank" crap ruined it for me.

I dont get it. That car was about as Un prostreet as it could have been. The guy specified Tubbed, caged, and generally, prostreet. he got a nice pro touring car, with an outrageous paint scheme. He requested real fire style flames. I dunno. There's no way that car could put that power down. I'da been PO'ed. But I guess it's hard to look a gift horse in the mouth.
And how exactly was that car more deserving of "worst beater" when compared to the model A truck?

Yeah, the only thing that struck me as pro-street were those wild graphics, kind of remind me of the 80s. I guess they figure watching Foose make tribal flames is more fun then watching them tub the car and put in a cage, which would have been more appropriate for his "pro-street" request. Though I hope this is the shows new format and they get away from the, "your car has been stolen, so we are sending a midget detective with a beautiful girl friend to investigate".

That Camaro was at SEMA, I didn't like the paint design. The outside was all-done but the inside wasn't finished. That compressor company is really behind that show now, they had handout photos with their name on them.
The Camaro was an easy pick for them, it probably fit their sponsors better.

yeah, I figured the decision to go with the camaro was a marketing one. Overhaulin', Stop pandering to me. You went with a camaro because it was "easy" and because more people have one. end of story.
It had nothing to do with who's car was more of a beater. that car wasn't in as bad a shape as half of the cars they've done in the past.

That Camaro was a real let-down. Foose generally does nice work, but this car missed the mark really bad. There was nothing pro-street about it at all. Sure it had a wild paint scheme (which I didn't like at all) and a big motor, but that was it. I think it would have been a lot better caged and tubbed. Not that I'm a fan of pro-street, but at least it would have fit the bill.

Im sure there must have been a little give and take in the coversation. a "look there's no way were gonna be able to tub the car and get it signed off by the insurance company" or something along those lines.

Well it's not really a "gift horse" since you have to pay taxes on it that amount to thousands of dollars..
:)
I will have to check out the new format, I had quit watching the show.

After watching the show, I thought to myself that maybe Foose is trying to start a new trend with the wild paint job. I would have like to see a minitub job and 335's under the rear. I actually thought the car looked okay.
I missed the end, did the guy drive off in the car? I bet it won't even get off the line with that much motor, way to much torque for those skinny 20's.
What would the taxes be on that build? 8% on 70 grand? or is on the parts only?

the car looked ok. the paint colors were what hte guy asked for.. Over all the car didn't look bad at all. It just wasn't pro-street. The interior was great. I wish they would have showed more.

You are all correct the car reminded me of a hot wheels car I once had. Those wheels are going to get tore up real fast too. I am not one to bitch about tires but dare those were some rubber bands.

I agree it would have been nice to see a minitub job done with some 335's but oh well..

I only got to see a few bits at the beginning, then a little bit of the reveal. I am assuming it still is done in a week, maybe no time for a cage, or mini tub.
But if the guy asked for it, then why not do it for him, or move on to another car. In the end it is HIS car, and he is it right?

Did you guys see them mount the tires. I think they mounted like a 295 on a 7" rim. They could barely get it on there? WTF?
TonyL

yeah. Im not to sure about that one myself. Why couldnt they just use wider wheels? none on the shelf?

I actually thought the camaro was really sweet...
but maybe I'm just a 'tard...
I'd love to have Foose work on any of my rides...

I am a Foose fan for sure....but I don't see how he could draw that car on paper and say "you know that looks good". But hey, what do I know

The more I stare at the photo of the car.....Hot Wheels is right on! They sure plugged the sponsers last night. Watch it again and watch the license plate change to all the sponsers.

That project, much like the 56 Chevy, just proves that even the great one Foose, runs low on creative juice sometimes.
I noticed on this show Adrienne got a lot of time, and I am liking her much better then Courtney. No nearly as obnoxnious (sp) and 10 times hotter. BTW, anyone seen Courtney? Another great career move! About the equivalent of Guns and Roses breaking up to further their careers, LOL!

I agree Adrienne is was better than that other girl what's her name again???
That's got to be hard to design something that meets the masses approval and can be done in 7 days or whatever time they have. But like all TV show's I wonder how much is just for TV and what reality is?

well i think that new chick is not nearly as hot as courtney..her arms are way to skinny..as far a courtney shes ms october in the new fhm 2006 calander ...looking hot as ever..and the should have done that truck ..much more deserving than that camaro

You know, I was a big Foose fan in the beginning. Now it just seems to be the same thing over and over. Baer brakes, Huge rims, shaved handles and locks, narrowed bumpers, crate engine and a funky paint job and voila!!! FOOSIFICATION!! I am now just tired of it.

This is the 2nd or 3rd Gen2 Camaro he's done and on all of them, he didn't put a rear spoiler. Why??? I think of all the Camaro's, the 2nd Gen's need a rear spoiler more than any. I agree with some of you also. This was the worst car I've seen them do. I think I have liked every car Foose has done until this one.

Yea I'll agree with you there. It was always the paint job and interior work that did it for me. Most of the other things (mechanical, electrical, restoration, and some cosmetic stuff) I don't think are too far out of reach for someone with decent mechanic/restoration skills. The paint jobs and interior are where I'd have to shell out big $$$ to get something close to that.

I don't know, maybe it's just me but, what do you want for one weeks worth of work, having it channeled, choped and sectioned?:hand:

I TiVo-ed the show so hopefully it was worth the space lol. sounds to me it may not have been. the new chick is ditsy and doesnt seem to wanna really "get dirty" like courtny did or gets along with the crew as much. just me on that, i could be wrong? :guilty:

They need the format change badly as viewership is bailing out and they know it, AJ is an ass, Chris is still an ass, I miss Courtney, and she was hotter, and that Camaro was one of the worst jobs done on the show to date.

The only reason I watch is because it is car relatd. But lately I have been thinking I would rather spend that hour in the garage instead of on the couch. The show seems to have lost it's appeal to me. Strip it, patch it, paint it, interior and Foose wheels. They are all looking the same. Maybe they should try to get Troy or some of the other big names across the country to do some builds. Make it like the biker build off on Discovery Channel???
I think the format change is needed though and they are getting cars from areas other than soCal which is good too. I think they need to drop the idea of "worst of the three" though. Just introduce the car/owner you picked for this week and move on. There is no way that Camaro was more of a beater than the truck. And to get up the hopes of those other two owners. I'd be a bit ticked to have Chip come out to my place and see and drive my car then not have it on the show. Just tell me up front "thanks but we're not interested."
I think I'll make it a point to be in the garage from now on...:wtlw:

I don't think chip has the time to go all out on cars, maybe thats why they all look the same? I dont think you can do everything chip would want in 1 week. The camaro looks good, not a huge fan of the paint job. The car could sit lower and thats about it. Anyone know what size rims? Courtney is hot and i miss that body of hers :usa:

the biggest "problem" of late is that foose keeps using the same wheels on the cars. The one off billets on some of the cars were awesome. I thought to myself while watching "how horrible for those other guys, they actually got their hopes up."
I'd rather think i was never considered at all than know i was THAT close.
I'd still take any one of those cars though.

All I know is I have a few cars that would be considered more of a "beater" that any of those cars. I know they would never pick the Skylark unless it had a chevy engine in it though (they love their Chevys). They would never know what to do with the 455. In my opinion they definatly need to drop the pranks and possibly lengthen the build time to turn out a better product in the end.
