Hi I have question about catch can setup
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2019/09/attachmentphpattachmentid418410d13465674-1.jpg
I have L77 engine that looks like the picture
is this setup and cap the nipple in back of driver side valve cover will work with other catch cans ? (I got this picture from the internet)

Also can I instead of using oil breather cap use this small filter with the nipple in the valve cover marked red in picture?

I have mine plumbed as shown in your pic. I do not have the breather though, just the stock style threaded cap. I drilled & tapped a plastic 3/8 barbed elbow on the bottom of the intake tube, just in front of the throttle body.

The PVC is supposed to be sealed. Fresh air is drawn in from the intake tube (metered) to the valve cover, sucked into the intake system from the valley. If you draw non metered air through a breather, it will not run right. All air entering the engine should be metered by the MAF sensor.

Mine is plumbed exactly like the picture and Scott’s. BA81z28, the air from the intake tube is post MAF sensor. Mine runs perfectly fine, 13000 miles and no issues. I have had a couple of different intakes on it but they were plumbed exactly the same. Here is a picture of mine.

I have maf sensor delete tune also my throttle body is adjusted I increased the idle because of performance cam shaft that I have. so I don't know if the catch can will work well if i connect the clean side from to the throttle body to the valve cover with the adjusted throttle body

Yes, the air being pulled from the intake is supposed to be post MAF. Looks like yours is plumbed just like mine. Sealed, no breather to open unmetered air.

The hose coming from the passenger valve cover is connected to the intake tube or some other place?

To the intake tube between the MAF and throttle body so the air is metered by the MAF.

Thanks Don. If I don’t have a MAF just run it into the intake tube/box?

Yes speed density you can connect to any source of clean air.
