I am building a ‘67 camaro with a LS3/TR6060 tranny and DSE subframe. Nobody makes a transmission crossmember for this application. I can fabricate my own, or buy a $300 Bowler crossmember for a T56 and modify it. The problem with fabricating my own is the trifecta of clearing the tunnel, making room for the exhaust and getting the right pinion angle of 2-3 degrees downward. Anyone else install a TR6060 in a 1st gen F body? Thanks.

We built a 68 two or three years ago used a TCI suspension modified the crossmember from there kit and used the stock tr6060 trans bushing. I would suggest raising the entire trans tunnel 1in at a min from the fire wall to the rear bulkhead as the drive shaft can touch the top of the tunnel under compression.

Take a look at what I did here: https://www.pro-touring.com/threads/117369-T-56-Early-Camaro-Trans-Swap?highlight=

Did you have to modify the rear seat bottom cushion when you raised the entire tunnel? Does your crossmember allow for the exhaust to clear on each side? Thanks.

When we did the swap we just raised the trans tunnel, we did not discover the drive shaft issue until after completion however it is only a slight touch but if I was to do it again I would have raised the entire tunnel. On the exhaust it clears just fine we ran a 2 1/2 with an h pipe the system is real close to what TCI used on the Camaro they originally built. If you pm me and get me your e-mail I'll send you some pics.

I have used the G-force cross member in 2 cars w DSE subframe. It fits perfect, but you will have to use about a 1" shim under the trans mount to get the correct driveline angle. If you need any pics, let me know

Did you use that G force with a TR6060 or was it a T56? If you have photos, that would be great. I did find a used crossmember that I can modify from Bowler that was designed for a T56.

I have used it with both T56 (98-02) F body, and a magnum T56.

If you have to use a 1" spacer, it is not a perfect fit!

I tried all off the shelf made crossmembers on my other car. The G force was by far the best option. Easy to install, clears the floor, nice exhaust clearance, and everything lines up nicely. I end up shimming the trans up on every build anyway. Even the new holley setup that in my black 69 has a small shim. I found it very helpful in fine tuning the angles for smooth highway operation. If I had the ability to fab up what DSE does in their shop, I'd definitely do it. Probably the only option to get it perfect. If there is another option, I'm not aware of it. What setup are you running Steve?

Here are two low budget fab options. No they are not direct fit , but you could make it work and relativley cheap.

What about the Holley cross member?

I am using this cross member with a TR6060.
Not a direct bolt up to the transmission but only slight modification with a grinder and drill.
I am only in the build stage so I can't tell you if the driveline angles are correct yet.

I am using a Hooker crossmember on a TR 6060. I was fighting it today and on a 68 camaro subframe. I could not get the crossmember far enough forward to use the front bolt in the factory subframe. I was either going to cut the center out of the mount so it could go closer to the front and not hit the transmission, or redrill one hole on each side. Theres 2 front holes on each side of my frame and I could get to the back front hole. The other is at least a quarter inch forward and there was no way it was going that far so I am drilling holes to let it sit on the rear front hole and the new hole will be for the back subframe hole. There was just no way it would work.
