I took the car out for the first time today since last fall, and the pedal effort is super high to get the brakes to engage. I have a stock dual master and power brakes. Does this sound like something a brake bleed might cure? Fluids levels in the master are up, and there are no leaks anywhere. There was no issue when it was parked. Thanks!

What is the MC bore size? Are you certain the booster is working? Does the engine make enough vacuum to operate the booster?

Sounds like a vacuum problem. When you shut off the car, does the pedal go immediately hard? or do you get a couple pumps of assist?

I just double checked everything and it looks like the plastic grommet at the master cylinder had cracked with age and heat. They would explain my lack of vacuum. Thanks!

That would do it! Please report back once it is fixed.
