Hey guys.
6.2 LS
the whole install kit is
holly.
I noticed today my oil pan is dimpled
pretty bad on both sides from the ball joints.
Aka bad friggin news...

holly isn’t being helpful.
Ls swap shop I used isn’t either...
rack and pinion is an option. Be it a super pricy one.

Shim the engine up a bit?
i heard this is possible and not.

Temp solution..
back fill the dimples
and weld a little protector plate so the ball joint
cant puncture the pan ????

frig. I’m frazzled here

Do not put a rack and pinion on your car.

What is the part number of your pan? It "looks" like the 302-1.

Ya it is.

holly told me there’s an even
Newer one out now. Looks like
The one you showed.

I’m trying to get them to swap
It out for me

So Holley is being difficult.

I’m using 302-1
I have the 71221007HKR
Mounts.

He’s saying those are mis matching
Comments. I ordered what I was told
To by the swap shop who’s done
At least 50 swaps. Nothing but
Sexy hot rods coming n going...

Any insight?

Ordering the 302-2 looks like your best and easiest solution.

Looks like. But I’m miffed they won’t help
Me out and are telling me I mismatched
Parts...
I can’t find anything saying I did
Mismatch

The instructions for the Holley mounts that you are using clearly state that the 302-2 pan is the one to use.

https://documents.holley.com/199r10933.pdf

You have a 302-1 pan. The 302-3 pan will also work, because it is identical to the 3.2-2, except with additional clearance for a stroker crank and two oil drain back ports for turbo applications.

Here is how a 302-2 pan fits in a A-body.

I believe the 302-2 requires a little extra trimming. Consult the instructions I posted.

Looks like. But I’m miffed they won’t help me out and are telling me I mismatched parts...It seems your issue is with the shop who did the work, not Holley.

Nowhere in Holley literature or website listings is the Holley 302-1 oil pan listed to be compatible with the Hooker Blackheart A-Body LS swap system. It is specifically stated that the 302-2 and 302-3 pans are to be used in that application. The shop recommended the 302-1 pan in error.

Not to hijack this thread.... BUT I have a 67 Chevelle with a LS2 in it. This car was an early swap car done with a 2007 GM create (corvette) engine and used energy poly mounts and what looks to be new fame mounts. The drive angles are extreme (2-3 on driveshaft and pinion. 8 on trans yoke) due to trans tail down and a lowered stance. Serial # says it is 2007 corvette create engine and has stock type pan on it. What can I do to fix this thing properly? Was thinking Holley 302 pan, Dingo mounts and trans blocks. Opinions please??

Use the Holley engine mounts, 302-2 or 302-3 oil pan and the Holley trans X-member.

The Hooker (Holley) swap components will greatly help your drive-in situation. I have the same issue on my 70 GTO (swap done in 2008) and eventually I will redo the swap with the Holley parts.

I used the holley frame mounts, 302-2 pan, Hooker headers, and holley accessory drive on my 68 cutlass. All fit perfectly with no issues.
No reason anymore to create new solutions for common swaps.
