Can Earl Fittings be used on Russell Hose

I'm in a pickle...Im installing a oil cooler adapter using Russell hose and fittings. Turns out I need a 60 degree fitting and Russell doesn't have one!!! WTH

I want to have hope that Russell's "Pro Classic Hose" is the same as Earls "Pro-Lite"...Being AN spec nylon braided hose...Can a Earl fitting be used on Russell hose?

I would hate to have one use one brand the other something else.

I have -10 fittings is someone can give me some specs for Earls for comparison.

I've had no problems mixing hose and fitting manufacturers, as long as the sizes [#AN] and type [rubber, PTFE] then it's probably just fine.

Nevertheless, I always air pressure test my AN lines before installing.

I have both Russell and Earls fittings being used with Russell hoses on my car. Both make a quality product and as both fittings are intended for that type hose I don't believe you'll have any issues.

Well still on the hunt. Got the Earl fitting and learned there is another type known as “cutter”. Wish summit racing's site would have mentioned that. Looks like Jegs does. Trying Raceflux...

I go directly to the manufacturers website for fitting info. Summit and Jegs just cut and past on their sites and sometimes leave something to be desired.

Raceflux fittings work with Russell hose. Got the fitting yesterday, despite the design being slightly different, the specs are the same.


On another note...these fittings get hard to assemble towards the end. -6 and such not too bad, but these bigger hoses worry me I’m going to snap the nipple off. Are these that tough? I’m now starting to contemplate using crimp fittings.

For what it’s worth, the fittings in your picture are for two different types of hoses

93GT is correct and yes Yoo can successfully mix and match different manufacture AN components as long as same design.
