What intake and carb combo will fit underneath a stock steel replacement cowl induction hood on a 69 Camaro with a 454? Will a Edelbrock RPM intake fit?
I just purchased a 69 and I am going to put a BB in it.
I am also wanting to run one of those air cleaners and housings(dont know what that assembly is called) that mate up to the cowl hood to get an original "look".

Will this work?

its called an AIR-GRABBER.

naw just kidding...its a cowl-induction air cleaner. should fit, a friend of mine is running an air gap version with a stock cowl. Make sure you have the right frame mounts.

An air gap intake should fit, as long as you don't get carb-spacer happy like some people do.:)

just re read your post...im not too sure the air cleaner would work right...it was set up for a 302. I guess it would if you...well no depends on how far the base drops it. My friends using a drop base open element.

thanks, sence of humor is important when your a schizophrenic hypocondriac with a slight fear of heights and extra T gene.... nevermind the voices in my head told me to say that.

but come to think about it, the Z28 302 mounts are the same as the big block due to the high rise intake.

I have a 427BB with the Performer manifold and it fits under a flat hood. I would have to guess it would fit under a cowl hood without a problem.
