I want to let everyone know how much I enjoy this site. The ideas on this site have had the most influence on moving me away from stock appearance on my project.

I've owned this car for 25 years this month and yesterday was the first day under my ownership that the car has moved under its own power! It was a short trip through the snow to the end of the driveway where I ran out of gas but it was thrilling nonetheless. Below are pictures and there are more on my website

The car is 2004 Nissan 350Z Daytona Blue Metallic. I really love this color because it doesn't wash out in the full sun like some of the other blues but still looks good in partial light. I'm thinking of going with a black cloth top with dark gray seats and light gray/black cloth inserts using colors and materials similar to the picture below. The cloth pattern has very small black diamonds on a light gray field. I'll paint the original door panels a matching dark gray while leaving the dash, door tops and carpet black. I now think this is the best compromise between having a non-A/C convertible and wanting a modern but low maintenance interior. What do you all think??

I'm also thinking of going with 17" Intro Vistas. Again, thoughts are appreciated.

Looking good!! I like your ideas for interior. I still am not convinced what to do with mine. The pic you posted looks similar to the houndstooth interior doesnt it? I kind of want to do something like that with leather on the sides. I dont know though...that may be weird. Anyway...
I love the color, but definitely upgrade those wheels! ;)

Good luck!

awesome to see another first gen firebird, looks great! I havent posted any pics of mine yet but its coming along.

I saw a truck at the goodguys car show here in phoenix that featured a similar interior to what you guys are talking about and I really liked it. It was orange houndstooth to match the outside paint with leather around it, nice mix of old and new. See pic.

Thanks for the compliments. The cloth has a slight similarity to hounds tooth. I'm after something that's modern but looks like it belongs. I was also thinking of leather on the sides but my new car has gray leather and I don't like the way it creases after use. I think I'd be happier with a leather look vinyl. I'll hopefully get some 1'x1' samples later this week that I'll try to share.

nice 1st gen bird. That blue really does set it off. And all of the detail & polishing that you did looks great. Nice ride. Can't wait to see it done.

That's so bright it looks like it's been photoshopped. Nice.

No photoshopping here! Actually, the sun wasn't nearly as bright as I wanted for the pictures. It can pop even more.

I think I've decided to go with black with dark slate gray for an interior.

Bill: That looks good - I haven't tackle SFCs yet. Though not a good as weld ins, I plan to modify some bolt in connectors.

congrats on getting it moving. i think your interior idea will look nice against that blue. good choice for blue as well. that is one of the best blues out there on a production car.
