We are installing a DSE subframe to a ‘67 camaro-DSE does not make their own connectors from the firewall to the subframe. I thought about making my own or using a pair from another company. One individual stated you can’t install these and keep your inner fenders. Anyone else install these? I do like these connectors since they do a great job of adding stiffness to the structure. Our engine is a LS3. Here is a photo of a build I found online. Thanks for any opinions.
Chris.
yes .... you can build around the inners, passenger side is pretty easy, the driver side depends on booster or no booster,,, you can always ad a bolt on unit

Those handlebars won’t fit with an LS without modification.

thats a blanket statement that is doesn't fit an LS, it depends on the layout and intake, here it is on my carbed LS

Well let’s say 95% of LS motors. Took extensive mods with my LS3 and stock intake. I’ll not say anything about running a carb on an LS.... :poke:
Air conditioning in that car?

I know Hotchkis is attempting to have a version that will work with LS motors. For now, has anyone made their own or adapted others to fit?

I modified the Hotchkis to fit. It was extensive with those Holley accessories. Tighter accessories would require fewer mods.

for my 69 camaro with dse subframe, i used chris alston chassis works. did have to cut a small area at the front of inner fender, I made sure had room for inner fenders when welding in the mount to firewall.

Thanks. This was the look I was going for. Will see if they still have these available. Did they come powder coated?

Found them for $499. Now I am wondering if they are worth the investment. I know the DSE subframe is very strong—but it would seem from an engineering standpoint that bracing from the unibody’s firewall down to the subframe is a good decision.

Rod,
Do you know if the handle bars will fit the DSE sub frame? I have looked at them for several years but just never pulled the trigger because I was not sure they would work. BTW, I'm running the 1st gen SBC.

What are the odds the upper control arm mounting method, locations, dimensions, spacing etc are the same as the stock subframe?....

Don't know that's why I ask Rod if he knew.

If it were me I would go ahead and buy them. It’s likely that relocating the mounting holes would get them to fit. Worst case a little cutting and welding. The crossbar is adjustable which should help.

Yeah, I'm actually leaning in that direction. So what if I have to do some cutting and welding to make them fit.

Did you pull the trigger and get them to work? Considering same.
