I have a new LS3 / 376 - 480 installed in my second gen. I’m debating on staying with the stock exhaust manifolds or going with headers.

I’ve heard headers will cause the plug wires to burn on my engine.

Any thoughts / suggestions?

The only reason for burned plug wires would be the wires are to close or touching the headers. If you route the wires to keep them off the headers you shouldn't have any issues. This may require new wires to get the length you need.

LS plug wires normally just go from the plug to the coil. What mount setup are you loooking at? I would recommend looking at the Holley stuff, you can either use their headers or 5th gen manifolds (I believe).

If you’re looking to maximize your power, go with headers, the LS3’s like to breath. If you’re going to keep your engine stock then you could use 1 3/4” primaries. If you ever plan on upping your power level then get 1 7/8’s.

I an LS in my C10. 1 3/4" tubes. If you use the stock metal plug wire shields you should be fine. Kind of depends on the headers. I've never had any problem.
