Detroit Speed Subframe brake line kit with Wildwood setup.

Hey folks... I was wondering if there was a kit for this? Seems the standard retro kit will not work and I may just have to plum it myself. I was also curious about the rear end with the quadra link brackets. Anyone familiar with this have a go with it to make it factory neat? I guess i could use inline and buy a bunch of the bracketry to make it work. Thanks in advance.

I have a feeling you're going to have to bend it all yourself.

If you haven't already, take a look at DSE's project page and check out their builds. They have thousands of pictures broken down by projects. I've spent countless hours looking at them and getting ideas and learning how they did certain things.

I have been as well... LOL I was finally looking for an easy way out. I ordered some lines from Inlinetubing and will hunt down my bender and flare kit. Thank You! If you have any pictures etc of what you did that would be awesome.

why not use a factory line kit? Frame is basically the same as a factory frame - these lines can be bent. Seems that would be the quickest way there.
I ordered a front kit for a 2nd gen Camaro - regular steel lines - for $55. Cheaper than the materials needed to build my own. I will need to modify slightly for a non stock master location, but I have a brake tubing bender. I am using stop-tech with -3 AN hoses and there are plenty of adapters to go from 3/8 -24 stock line to the AN hoses for a wildwood or ST kit.

I use a factory line kit on DSE frames. Couple of extra bends here or there, but it's not been a big deal. You'll need some clamps to attach the lines as you go. Makes it a bit easier to bend as you go where needed. I start at the crossmember and just center the line where it fits the contours best. Then work my way toward each brake caliper.

I also used the factory Inline tube kit on the DSE sub. It fit like it was made for it. I ran the factory kit to the factory rear hard line mount and had to fab everything behind that.

I made my own, since my brakes didn’t use the factory set-up, I went a little custom. Just copied what saw on their builds.

While not a dse frame I just finished installing stock line kit for my front brake set up. Just had to bend one line from master to the T junction block. Whole setup was done in less than an hour. A refreshing change !
It’s not as clean as custom but saved a lot of time and didn’t have to do any flare work just bent one section of pre made line. Simple and should be robust.

Those are two master cylinders right there with the plastic reservoirs on them. One for front brake the other for rear brakes.
This is a manual system with balance bar.

I honestly didn’t think the factory lines would work for anything but stock application. The flex hose brackets are not easily located on the DSE frame. I also had to custom bend the MC.

Looks like a decent place for this question. I often see hard lines under the master cylinder that have been bent to form a loop or two before entering the master cylinder. What is the purpose of this?

My understanding is that it's done to account for body/frame flex.

correct - this is a manual set-up. Booster is useless with my motor! makes no vacuum.

Bracket is from No Limit Engineering in TN, they are a forum sponsor. It's not really marketed from what I could see but they still make them on request.
There are some things to be aware of if you install this in a 2nd gen with factory wiring - I can walk you through it if needed.

I appreciate the info folks and the pictures ! I did order some Russell brake clips where it goes soft to hard to bolt to the frame. I’m so tempted to go with manual brakes with the Wilwood brake pedals and their firewall clean mount. What do you guys think ?

I custom bent the lines for my DSE sub. It obviously takes longer but IMO that'll give you the best results. I tried to salvage the factory rear differential lines for the Quadralink but it was no bueno, ended up bending lines for the whole car. My advice would be to use some mechanics wire or a metal coat hanger and form the shape you want, then bend the lines to match.
