I love both wheels. Have been wanting original TT's for 30 years, but have always jsut had the Rally II's. At any rate, if it were a 65 or a 66, I'd go with the II's which are polished. But the chrome on the 67 is notably larger, and I've been leaning towards the matte grey center as on the originals, as I think it would go better. Just a sanity check before I order some. My car is Tyrol Blue. Here's a shot of one iwth the polished II's:

161939

And here is Nicks67GTO's car. His has 18's, similar, but not quite the same wheels. But should give a feel for it:
161940

Anyway, like said, just curious to hear other people's opinion on it.

I like both. But I’d lean to the bottom ones.
Little more modern. Unique. And less chrome/polish

Thanks for the input. To be clear, though, the ones on Nick's car are not what I'm doing. Closest I could find on the car. I guess you'd say I'm going more for the Restomod look than PT.

The wheels by themselves look like this:
161947 or 161948

ya those may be Vintage WheelWorks. but regardless - I like the dark gray center vs. the polished.

I believe Nick's are Billet Specialties. They are also 18's, whereas I'm going with 17's. Went ahead and ordered the ones with the dark grey. Appreciate the feedback. Wanted to make sure my longstanding desire to have them wasn't keeping me from seeing something that may have been a better option.

Well. I’m kinda partial to these new rocket racing attack wheels myself. But it’s a different price point. And that is a pro-touring look vs a resto mod. So depends what you are looking for. I switched from
v40s on a 71 Camaro but it’s a full on PT build so they suit the car better IMO.
I was still torn. Love the classic TT look too. I had a polished set on a dark blue 63 impala

68 is the turning point for me on a lot of these cars. The earlier ones (like mine) just look better keeping that classic look to me. And this was my first car, bought it as a kid 30 years ago, so it isn't going anywhere. But if I were starting from scratch, I'd go for a later car, preferably a 70 GTO, white with the WT7 option look (black chin spoiler, RA hood inlets, and wing), and lace style wheels, or some more modern wheels. They seem to fit the lines of the 68 and later cars, but to me, look out of place on the 67 and older. Size is a factor, too. I'd go with 18's on a 68 or newer car, but on the older ones, a little more sidewall seems to look better, so I'm going with 17's. If I still had my 4-4-2 (69), I would definitely be going that way. But, I sold it to buy 67Queen's engagement ring.

I think you made the right choice with the grey center.

67King, I think my 67 Chevelle is almost the same color as your GTO. Here are the Classic Torq Thrust II’s that I just installed. Should give you an idea what yours will look like. Brushed aluminum flat caps on the way.

Well, I'm partial to the classic look and am running the VNCL205 American Racing. 18 x 12 and 18 x 8. I had them made with offsets to work with my 56" wide rear, and of coarse I have no pics of them on this 'puter. I'll post some up asap.
