Has anyone tried 275/40/18 on a 1st gen F body on all 4 corners? The diameter is 26.7”. I have searched the forum and seen this on the rear but not on the front. (Only found 275/35/18 for fronts). Plan on running a 18x9 wheel with DSE subframe, 1967 camaro. Thanks.
Chris.

Rears would probably work OK depending on your ride heights, but the front will most likely have too much diameter for both fender and subframe clearances. I tried a 275 35 18 front and full lock its rubs subframe. If you did custom inner fenders and has stiffer suspension, you might be able to get away with it.

I'm running the DSE subframe on my 68 Camaro with the 275/35-18 BFG Rival. Its overall height is 25.55" and I don't have any rubbing issues, however, it's critical to get the proper backspacing and ride height. I also replaced my inner fender bolts with button-head bolts to keep them from snagging the tire. With all that said, your tire would be another 1.25" taller which is somewhat relative in terms that with the taller tire, you can raise the front suspension accordingly and still keep the same appearance (just with a larger diameter wheel), however, if you're looking to keep the ride height lower and tuck the larger wheel up inside the wheel well, I can tell you it won't fit without modding the inner wheel well and rolling the outer lip. Even then, you'd still be giving up a considerable amount of turning radius which kinda defeats the purpose of dropping the coin on the high-send subframe. Plus you'll chew up some expensive tires.
For comparison, I'm running Forgeline ZX3P's in 18 x 9.5" with 6.375" of backspacing on the front.

Shane, that is what I was thinking.. A 275/40/18 front is a little too tall. I will either go with the 275/35/18 all around or at least up front. Thanks for the help. Sounds like you did not do mini-tubs up front with yours.

Yeah, I'm running stock front inner fenders. The rear's been mini tubbed and I run a 315 rear tire. I would've loved to stuff a 335 back there but I played it safe! Here's how mine sits...

It's not a square set up it's 275/35-18 18x10 front 335/30-18 18x12 rear. Stock inner fender with button head bolts around the fender opening. I can slip my fingers between the fender and tire but only just. I used to have tire rub on the outer sidewall under heavy braking until I switched from 600lb to 800lb front springs.

Great stance and like your choice of wheels. What brand of wheels are you running? I will most likely run 275/40/18 rear and as for the front, will look at either 245/40/18 or 275/35/18.

Rodney,
275/30R18? What tire? Most are 275/35R18
You're on a stock subframe still right?
