Got it out in natural light today for the first time in quite a while. First test drive on the new suspension, tires and wheels. Enjoyed it even if it was short lived. Got no dash or anything else in it right now so I didn’t go far.

The suspension will end up with air I hope. Haven’t decided between an older LT1 or a 5.3 yet. Leaning to the 5.3 because of the crazy support for those swaps. Paint will be charcoal, black nickel chrome bumpers and trim and a blue interior. Long term goals for sure! Building it for my wife to enjoy and drive so I’m trying not to go stupid with it.

1966 was an exceptional year for automobile styling! Beautiful gem you have there! The patina or primer is exquisite! 5.3's are wonderful power plants. then of course there are coyote swaps.... I jest LOL!

Thanks. The patina is actually a really old repaint. The car was originally white and repainted silver at some point. The white under the silver is the factory paint. Very solid car with no rust in the fenders, rockers or doors. Minimal body work needed so I’m happy!

haven't been on much but still working on the 66. Got the firewall plate in(has it's first coat of paint on it now but bare in the pic after welding) Started painting the frame rails, motor and trans are ready and I stripped just about the whole car down to the 1966 lacquerprimer......ugh.189389189390189391189392189 393189389189390189391189392189393

This weird thing came over me and I decided to mate these two together on a blind date and all of the sudden they’re spending the first night in their new home………… on a side note, I realized once again tonight that I’m NOT 21 any more. This hurts a little!

Got some more done lately. Floors are all in and got the rearend under it again. Might get this on the ground again this year! Gotta get brakes for it now………

got it from these guys Charlie. I couldn't make it for what it would cost in metal and labor for what Chris and his guys charge. I've gotten a couple from them now.....

Been doing little stuff. Got the term x all wired, motor is ready to run except a fuel line. It’s even an “official” Buick motor now!

The 66 is in paint jail now. Been there since around thanksgiving and the guy doing it said it should be done in a few more weeks. All the fenders, doors, trunk, etc are all epoxy primed now so there’s some progress being made! Gotta get it ready to run Rt66 this summer.

The car is in the paint booth right now so I hope to have it back in a week or two. I’ve got a ton of assembly to do when I get it back to the house again. Roughly ten weeks to be ready for power tour in Joliet and then on to Rt66 to the west coast and then back to Florida. A lot to expect from an untested build.

Got my console back from the upholstery shop Thursday. Installed my audio controller head, Holley efi screen, shift boot, cupholder and a couple of usb ports for charging phones. Fit pretty good between the seats.220227220228

It’s a factory code “Y” color for the car, but I added some gold pearl in the binder coat before it was cleared. Really changes the look in good sunlight.

Buick is getting so close to being done that I bought myself a retirement project. Couldn’t pass on this 70 gto that’s been stored for over 20 years without being touched. About two hours of toying with it and I drove it on my trailer!! Let the fun begin!220599

What transmission are you running? I am using a T56 Magnum and even with the Tinman trans tunnel it is REALLY tight. I also used Tinman's frame and motor mounts can not get more than 4 degrees of engine tilt without the trans hitting the floor pan. Even here it is super close to the floor pan and we may have to cut even more material out of it to make it serviceable. Console looks great and I see you have manual so I am curious if you used a T56 your floor pan and trans tunnel look stock in the other pics.

I put those same US Mag wheels on my 69 Cutlass, love them. You can easily fit C6 base or Z51 brakes behind the 18” version.

Mine is an auto(4L60e) I just used a short lokar shifter with a boot so it “looks” different. My motor still identifies as a Buick though……lol
