For sale or trade is my Unique & Rare Un-Restored 1971 Camaro!!!

It has a very interesting history and has survived by being stored most of its life since 1979 in a garage. So I will not call this a barn find but more like a garage find. The car is a great candidate for either a factory restoration or a super candidate for a Pro Touring / Resto Mod type restoration!!!!

First and for most, there are 75 pictures available at the link below at the bottom of the ad along with some VIN and Cowl Tag Details about the car, so please take a minute to look over all the pictures.
VIN:
1 - Chevrolet
24 - Camaro V8-powered
87 – 2dr Coupe
1 - 1971 model year
N - Assembled in Norwood, OH
573392 - Vehicle serial number

COWL TAG:
71 - 1971 model year
12487 - Chevrolet (1) Camaro 8 Cylinder (24) 2dr Coupe (87)
NOR - Assembled in Norwood, Ohio
176489 - Fisher Body number
778 – Green Standard interior
42 – Cottonwood Green paint
D313 - Fisher Body scheduling code
05B - Assembled during the second week (B) of April (05), 1971

History:
This is a documented one owner unrestored original Camaro. I have the original Protect-O-Plate with the original owner’s name and a copy of the original title along with a North Dakota DMV paperwork.
The car was recently purchased from the original female owner’s estate. She purchased the car new on 10/01/1971 from Rydell Chevrolet in Grand Forks, North Dakota. The odometer only shows 34,195 Miles actual miles. Once you view the car you will be able to conclude yourself that it is a low mileage survivor and has been stored for a very long time.

Body:
Amazingly, the car does not have any rust issues WHAT SO EVERY! And because it has been sitting in a garage for most of its life it does not have any of the usual rust issues in the rear quarters, doors, lower front fenders, floor pans, or rear trunk pan. The car retains all of its original 1971 GM SHEET METAL!!!!! (No replacement panels).
As you may have noticed in the pictures the alignment of the body panels and body lines on the car are extremely exceptionable for an original factory assembled car. In addition, the front windshield has never been removed from the car either which is almost unheard of these days.
The underside of the floor pans are also in amazing shape with no rust and with only minor surface rust (see pictures)

Drive Train:
The car retains its Number Matching & Vin Matching (CCC coded) 200 HP 307 Chevrolet engine along with the matching Power Glide Transmission and 10 bolt rear end.
The engine and transmission have never been out of the car and as you can see from the pictures it retains almost all of its factory bolts, clips and small hardware which is a small miracle in its-self given that the car is over 47 years old. Once we purchased the car, we did have to do address some common mechanical issues with the car before driving it back home from the west coast, like spark plugs, wires, fuel pump, radiator replacement, hoses and belts.

Interior:
The car was born with the Standard Green Interior. The seat and seat covers are original to the car and are in excellent condition with no missing hardware or issues. The door panels are also in excellent shape and only shows minor wear on the driver’s side. The headliner, package tray, dash pad and all seat belts are also original to the car. Although the dash pad does show some signs of warpage there are no cracks in it. Which is another tell sign of the car being stored for many years.

Although I could not get good pictures of the very well know rust issues under the dash, I can assure you that there is absolutely no rust on the underside of it.
This car is a true survivor and has been tucked away & stored for most of its life. It’s been stored in such a way that it has preserved the car with all its original parts.
There are no disappointments with this car...it is in amazing survivor shape with NO RUST & MOSTLY ALL GM SHEET METAL! It will save someone thousands of dollars in restoration cost because it does not need any rust repairs

Early Second Gen Camaro’s are very desirable! This car may not be for the average person just looking for a 71 Camaro but for those who are truly Enthusiasts, Builders, and Car Collectors will understand the relevance of a car like this one.

Wow! That is nice.

I had not seen a column shift Camaro before. That is not very common.

It would seem a shame to cut this one up.

Actually pretty common for a no frills Camaro. my '73 I'm sure started this color and had a Column Shift

Yep, I've seen a few of them. My 71 still has the column shifter, and further yet, it's a column shift tilt. Kinda cool in a weird way, so I probably won't hack the shifter off this like I've done, and just find a floor shift column.

Ken!
It was great meeting you and your boy this evening.
Car is absolutely beautiful and every bit as you described.

Most definitely happy to bring this car back to Texas.
It will be enjoyed by my son for many years to come I assure you! (During and after the transformation!)

Best of luck on your TA!

What are your plans for the car?

This car was purchased for my son.

We are currently building my daughter a 68 camaro. Full Ridetech front with tru-turn and 4 link. Ls3 platform built with T56 magnum. Baer track 4 brakes, 275 up front 315 out back, turn one box, etc... basically building it to turn and stop. Started as a 70k mile one owner car in its original paint and interior.

This 2nd gen will be getting the same treatment to keep the sibling rivalry to a minimum. Same Ridetech suspension with tru-turn and 4 link. This will be getting an ls2 based platform with t56 magnum, that I originally had built for the 68. Should be able to run a little more tire out back than the 68 as we stayed with a 11” wheel and 315 on it. Plans for this one are 12” 335.

Plans are to keep both cars in original paint praying that the kids can keep the all original gm sheet metal in tact. Lol.

All along while NoSleeperII sits in the corner...
