Hello, Just wondering if anyone can tell me if this tank- https://ecat.spectrapremium.com/products/GM37HFI could be made to work in a non refi application. I'm just plumbing my 65 GTO tri power, and I need to run a regulator and max out the fuel pressure at 6 psi. The reason I'm thinking of an in tank pump is so that I can hide the regulator, In a stock application, I would need to put a regulator between the pump and front carb and there just isn't room to do it nicely. My system also does not have a return line.

Advice appreciated!

I think you could replace the pump with a Walbro pump intended for carbureted applications.

Something like this:

Hopefully Carl from Vaporworx will weigh in.

Thank you Don,

I am wondering if the tank/pump combo linked above could be used with this regulator from RobbMC- https://www.robbmcperformance.com/products/regulator_bp.html in my application to give me the flow, and reduced pressure I require?

I don’t think it is a good idea to choke a high psi EFI pump down to 6 psi but I am not 100% certain. I would be concerned about getting enough flow. You could check with Walbro.

Why not run a mechanical pump? For a carburetor application they are hard to beat. The pressure regulated Carter that was on the 406SB worked great.

I wasn't aware there was a pressure regulated Carter available. The fellow the restored my tri power is telling me those carbs are not happy with more than 3-4 pounds of pressure. They have tested some off the shelf pumps and had results of 3-8 psi and as such recommend running a regulator. I'm only considering going to an electric pump so I don't have to have the regulator mounted between the mechanical pump and carb.

6psi max pressure.
