Hey folks,
I'm working through the design of my front suspension, and I'm going to need a rack with dimensions I haven't been able to locate yet: 22" center-to-center. Does anyone know of a convenient resource/database/list of OEM steering racks produced over the years? I know I can have a custom rack made, but that's an expensive route I'd rather avoid. Especially since I'll most likely need to keep a spare in the trailer in case I have a failure at the track.

I've seen custom racks made from the mid-90's dodge intrepid center take-off rack, but that scares me. 1) It's from a Dodge, in the worst years of the company's existence. 2)There are an astounding number of failures reported to the NHTSA about those steering racks. I don't really want to modify it, then over-stress it on a track car.

Any and all help would be awesome, even if it's to another option for custom racks.

Application: 1966 Mustang road race build. LS power, completely home-built front and rear suspension. Uses C5 front uprights, UCA's and LCA's. Yes, I expect to have to fabricate new steering arms (and that sucks).

Thanks in advance,
-Matt

Hey mister I haven't made a post in 3 years and now I demand help, Unicorn hunting is tough, I'm not sure what you expected. But in 10 seconds I found this at 21.5" center to center. https://www.detroitspeed.com/all-products-steering/21-5-detroit-tuned-power-rack-pinion-090220

It's hot rodding, you spend the money or you spend the time and quite often you spend both.

Assuming you're looking for a manual rack, we can do 21.5" or 22.5"; pivot-to-pivot.
