TL;DR:

I raised my transmission tunnel about 1.25"-1.5" to accommodate my T56 Magnum. Now my factory carpet is too narrow to stay under the door sills and kick panels.

For those of you that have done this mod, what did you do for carpet? I'd like to use the two piece factory replacement carpet from Auto Custom Carpets, but all they will tell me is it's made using the factory molds. So I have no idea if there is any extra width to trim off.

A little more background:

I was always planning to replace the carpet, but now I'm a little worried the new carpet won't reach either. I have a console in the car, and I've split the old carpet under the console as far back towards the back seat as will be covered by the console. Unfortunately, it's still short and doesn't fit down onto the floor all the way at the bottom of the tunnel. I probably poked the holes for my console and shifter boot a little too far apart, which I'm guessing is keeping the carpet from spreading apart as far as it could. So I may be able to get a little more width by opening those up more. I'm also guessing I raised the tunnel a little more than necessary, but that's a story for another day :)

If you order ACC carpet you can request that it not be trimmed.

ACC carpet already comes a little long on the sides. I suggest a new ACC carpet kit.

TMI has a multi piece carpet kit that will work and give a custom look.
