I'm starting a build.
I have been reading ryeguy2006a and Pro Stock John threads and
figuring on using their knowledge in this build.
I have accumulated parts and finally time to start some assembly.
Parts that I already have and need to be installed
new subframe that I bought from an unfinished project.
QA1 A arms
C5 brakes
TR6060transmision from a 2011 Camaro
12 bolt setup w/ ladder bars w/4.10 gears that need installed

MY plan...
(still need to purchase)
68 body, A/C preferably
LS engine (5.3 aluminum block, probably)
twin turbo

I want a daily driver that will run under 10sec 1/4mile.
I believe this is easily obtainable from reading Pro stock John's thread.
I will be asking for a lot of advice as I am new to LS engines and turbo systems
Tried attaching pictures but they are too large.

Welcome to the site. You can try hosting the pictures using a third party. I use Flickr, but some use imagr. Sounds like you have a solid parts list for your project. If I could give any advice it would be to start with getting the driveline in the car before adding the turbos. It's very easy to get over your head from both a labor and financial standpoint. I found that the Holley stuff just fits compared to some of the other swap mounts I have seen. I can't wait to see some pictures and if you have any questions long the way feel free to PM me.

Thank You Ryan,
After reading about your build that is the direction I am heading.
Get driveline setup, then go after turbocharging.
I don't have motor mounts yet, what setup would work the best?
Does anyone know if there is enough room to do the stock manifold flip for turbos, if it is an original A/C car, or is going aftermarket A/C a better option?

Running 9s with a stick shift is no joke.

Looking forward to progress.

Progress might be slow.
I don't have an engine or body yet.
I am looking for a 5.3 aluminum block engine.
Would this engine be ok to use with turbos for a daily driver?
Wanting input if a LS engine with the manifolds flipped will fit in an original A/C car or if
I'll need to go with Vintage Air.
Thanks

I suggest you read some build threads and see what is involved with what you want to do. Here is an excellent Nova build that is very well documented. This will give you an idea of what you have to deal with. Joe has documented his build for 10 years!

Thanks Andrew,
A very good thread to read.
I had not found that one before you posted the link.
Got plenty to read tonight, lol

For higher boosted engines the preferred 5.3 engine is the iron 5.3 with Gen4 rods and pistons. The earlier gen3 rods tend to bend under boost.

Yes, if I can figure out how to resize them, I have a bunch of pictures to post for this thread.
