So I’m new to tuning using Hp tuners pro. I created this thread for some questions that I have as well as others that could ask.
67 camaro
ls3/t56
TSP Stage 2 N/A LS3 229/244, .629/.615, 111 LSA Camshaft
Tsp Polished .660" Dual Valve Spring Kit Featuring PAC Valve Springs & PRC Integrated Seat/Seal
PRC Titanium Retainer for PRC Dual Spring
tsp 7.40 Chromoly Pushrod
Stainless works Long tube headers
ricks tank with camaro fuel pump
gmpp controller using my hotcam tune
315/30/18 rear tire
now to my first question.
Looks like the rev limiter is set at 6600 to cut fuel off and 6700 for extreme cut off. What would you set the rev limiter at? Max power was at 6500 rpms according to the engine dyno and still pulling solid at 6800. I was thinking about setting it to 6900 or 7000 rpms but getting on it and shifting around the 6500 to 6800 mark

Mine is set at 6800 w almost exact setup. I have the old TSP LS3 stage 2 grind 229/236 112. Mine pulled to 7000 on the dyno, but dropped off a few hp after 6700. So we just kept it safe since not much was gained. I think you'll be ok at 6900 or 7000.

z06vert that is what im guessing mine with do as well. Ill shift around 6800 but if i need to keep in in first gear for some reason on the autocross track up to 7k i can. before it was around 6400 so now i can pick up about 4mph in first gear.
Changed extreme cut off, in gear, and lamp RPMs to 7000rpm. Also changed cold start to 7000 instead of 6600 in some of the tables but left the low coolant temp limits the same. Switch the extreme resume to 6920
Changed Gear/tire wizard from 27.70 tire size to 25.4. Gear ratio from 3.42 to 3.70. Being that my car isnt a automatic and its a swap i dont see how this would really matter. I changed it anyway. if this was on a newer car it would automatically adjust the speedometer.
Dyno tuning time and results coming on 11/10

Do you know how to tune?

For sure 7k. Nice to have the added rpm through out the gears when needed including 6th. That valve spring setup wont even be tired at 7k

I’ve been learning with hp tuners and my aem uego wideband. On 11/10 I have 5 people that rented out a dyno and I know a guy that use to teach the hp tuners class. After that I’m hoping to understand more and tinker around with some basic set ups. We will have a cammed ls3, cammed intake and nitrous ls3, and a 427 lsX Whipple 2.9 to learn on.

I’m only touching my car. I’ll let my buddy learn on his nitrous tune and his car
I figured senting my rev limiter to 7000 I can make a pull and adjust the limiter based on the power curve. If I have time I’ll do a true before and after I take dyno test
Anyone else have any feedback, advice or questions on hptuners?

I don't have HP tuners advice, but I've been playing around with various efi systems since 1992. Tuning for WOT is pretty simple. What takes a lot longer is tuning part throttle driving, transient conditions, and idle.

My speedometer works great but when dyno testing and logging using hp tuners I wasnt geting a speedometer reading on hp tuners. I would like to have this info and use it for data logging and making videos. I was looking at the VSS pulses per rev and noticed it was set to 40.000 which is what the tremec GP super magnum tooth reluctor is which they promote all the time. I was able to change that to 12.000 since the t56 magnum as a 12 tooth reluctor. Guess what? my speedometer on hp tuners scanner works now. So for those debating between the magnum and super magnum save your $800 and get the magnum and buy HP tuners and fix the issue yourself.
question is did changing that effect anything else in my tune?

Lots of information over at https://forum.hptuners.com/
I'd recommend going through all the stickies and how to sections first.

Well it didnt change anything else in my tune but i did have a slight issue today. I made a 4th gear pull from 80 to 140 today and tripped a p0507 code. Idle air control code that i thought was weird. After doing some research i came upon this link. Havent been able to make another pull like that but i can tell you that i DIDNT have to re-calibrate my speedometer and the code hasnt came back up. https://www.camaros.net/forums/56-pro-touring/331673-gmpp-e67-controller-p0507-code-speedo-calibration-issue-fixed.html?fbclid=IwAR2rnVXZHSgxWCshz7ctxJxY_nfymW u1HSk93yS-FsSLfCO-A4bv6QEcGog Long story short you use this conversion Your gear ratio / (40.000 which is the stock GMPP setting/transmission tooth reluctor).

Has anyone gotten any training on HP tuners?
Online recommendations? training vendor recommendations for onsite training of seminars ?

Honestly once I had my buddy show me how to tune my car I haven’t touched it since. I need to get back to learning though

Anybody got a connection for a mobile tuner to change in injector data on a base tune? I’m in Orange California. Any help is greatly appreciated
