When did the time allotted for editing a post change? What's the time allowed to do so, now?

It’s always been 15 minuets. At some point during or between software updates it may have failed temporarily.

Just asking, as I've always been able to edit my old posts, until just recently.

I don’t ever remember running into an edit window on this forum. Could you please consider making it longer, 24 hours perhaps. 15 minutes is too short imho.
What is the goal of limiting edits in posts? I don’t get it....
Thanks,
Don

It would be great if the user that started the thread could edit a post anytime. Like if you were selling a part or car you could update to lower the price or mark sold instead of replying to the whole thread. I have send it this way on some tractor forms that looks a lot like this site.
Just saying.
Great site
Thank you
Tim

Things can spiral into a huge mess if we open it up. Someone says something, someone else has an issue, a post is edited then someone says "I never said that" and it just goes on and on and on.
Let me see if there is another way to do this.

I haven’t seen that sort of drama on this site for a long time. They said the same thing on the Camaro forum but then opened it up and not a single issue.
For me it’s about the ability to fix errors in my posts which is a semi regular occurrence...

Larry,
Thing is that if you reply with a quote the original post is captured permanently. I'm also on the RCCrawler.com forum and they have no time limit on editing a post. There has never been any issue there with he said /he said arguments. The unlimited edit is actually a nice option IMO. Maybe try unlimited edit for say 6 months and see how it works?

I have removed the time limit to edit posts.
Lets see how this goes.
Fingers crossed.
