Hey, Everyone, I'm Phil, 156248

I live in Phoenix and a transplant from Boston. I've always been into modifying cars trucks and bikes. Moving to Cali in 2007 I caught the off road bug and forgot about street performance but I stumbled across a 1974 Nova Last year and was hooked back into the muscle car world. This is the most complete build I've ever taken on outside of work and I've had a great time getting it to where it is today but it's still very much a work in progress. I'm a newbie to forums but have trolled for a long time, I'm always super impressed with some build threads people put together. I need to figure out how to use the image sites and all that and how all the communication works... be easy on me. Here's a little about my car. I found it in a storage lot in the desert, it was a bare roller, no interior or electrical system, dash was destroyed and the rear floor were rotted out from the windows being left open for decades.
We are going to be empty nesters this year and we needed a road trip car, I think this will do it. Here's where I'm at up until now, I hope you like it.

Engine and trans;

Cooling

Wheel and tires
US MAG u111
18x8 front 225/40

sounds like a thorough build!

the only things I would add are upgraded steering box (12:1) and a Borgeson u-joint style steering shaft.

if the car has stock steering you'll short change the rest of the build.

Recent Phoenix transplant myself. How did you like the summer heat?

Car looks great. Maybe someday will get to see it in person....

Thanks for the input and kind words, guys!

I forgot to add the steering info. I did upgrade the box to a 12:1 quick ratio box from Ricks Camaro and running all pro forged steering components with their tall outer tie rods to help with the lowered stance. I'd like to upgrade to a Rack and pinion someday.

SSLAnce, I've been in Phoenix for 5 years and have adapted to the heat ok, I'll take the sweltering heat over frozen toes and shoveling snow anyday! The car is at a buddy's shop getting aligned, gears and posi. Next week the vintage air should arrive and she'll be ready for some local shows, maybe we will bump into each other!

Its nice to see another Nova build. I had a 1973 Nova SS Hatchback ,4 speed car as my first car. I was doing Pro-Touring before they called it such.

Hey Rebob,

I'm from north PHX as well near 32nd street and Union. Looking forward to cruising weather, I hear there are some decent shows/meets around as well. As a transplant I don't know a lot of car guys, looking forward to seeing you around!

I'm near 75th Ave and Happy Valley and have been to 67th ave and Bell several times. I need to make it over to cruise in at the Pavilions one of these days.
